Union Church 'Sconset

I fell in love with the ecumenical Union Church built in 1883. The grounds were beautiful and calm. I felt far from the village yet it was only a tree-lined street away.

'Sconset Nantucket

14 Lincoln Road, 'Sconset.  I could hear the ocean breeze at night  and the general market was only a short bike ride away.

Mackerel Cove

Mackerel Cove on Jamestown, RI is my favorite place to relax, read, have a Del's and swim (never thought I'd use something called a noodle chair;) - thank you Sarah for sharing your spot with me.

The Breakers

I had such fun visiting The Vanderbilt's summer "cottage" while in Newport. It was the first time I actually took the tour . I can't wait to see the other mansions. Thank you Sarah and Marge! We had a fantastic tour guide; she was a former teacher. She knew how to handle our group, especially the woman who didn't speak English and was determined to touch everything! I'm hoping to volunteer for the Society at some point in my life.

Summer Hydrangeas

A few pictures from this summer's trip to 'Sconset and Jamestown.

My Best Friend is to Blame for this Blog

My best friend is to blame for this blog. Lately, (well at least for the last 22 years) we've talked about how we need to be who we are without apology -after all, we're thirty-five, right? (Truth be told we'll always struggle.) Me, I've always been the pearls and twin-set type. My best friend wouldn't be caught dead wearing said outfit let alone making it her url. She would probably chose something like Bouldergirl or SealBeachgal. Nonetheless, we are challenging each other to take action rather than talk about it. So, I'm throwing my voice out among the many - if you love all things New England, fantastic! If not, well, you know who to blame.
